God created the first man and the first woman in his image. They possessed the ability to obey him and worship him perfectly. Then, Satan tempted them, and sin entered the world. Watch these two videos to see what that means for us:

Although we come into this world as sinners incapable of keeping the law, God declares us righteous when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, his Son, and his work on the cross. Put another way, we can’t keep the entirety of the law, but God doesn’t hold it against us once we trust in him. He justifies us and gives us eternal life!
But do we no longer strive to obey the law? Paul says, “By no means!” (Romans 6:2). While God looks on us as if we’ve fulfilled the law, he also enables us to obey as we walk in the spirit. This is the process known as “sanctification.” Watch the remaining videos to understand what it means to undergo the process of sanctification as a response to justification.
