Introduction

Building Worldviews with Questions and Answers

Throughout the history of the church, godly men and women have taken seriously the command to “lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul” and to “teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

We have been given great help in our task by men who wrote instructional material that we could then use with our children. The Greek word katechesis refers to instruction by word of mouth. We instruct our children with questions and answers that cover the great truths of the Bible.

By doing this with music, we help them create a memorable mental framework for truth. As they grow older, they will be confronted with competing beliefs, assertions, worldviews, half-truths, and lies. Having heard the truth in their youth and having a solid framework for knowing what is true about God, themselves, and the world, they will be equipped to navigate what they hear in the future.

Did Christ Remain In The Tomb?

Answer: No, Christ is risen on the third day, just as He did say.

Scripture: The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know you are looking for Jesus. He is risen, just as He did say. Come and see the place where He lay. Go tell the disciples, quickly tell the disciples.”   Matthew 28:5-6

United With Him

Scripture: For, if we have been united with Him, in a death like His, we will certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His. Our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, no longer slaves to sin; the old self was crucified with Him. Because anyone who has died has been set free from sin, crucified. If we have died with Christ, we will also live with Him.  Romans 6:5-8

Where Is Christ Now?

Answer: Christ is in heaven, and He’s praying for me; He sits at the right hand of God.

Apostles’ Creed: He suffered under Pontius Pilate; He was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and He sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty. He will come to judge the quick and the dead.

Will Christ Come Again?

Answer: Yes, He is coming soon.

Scripture: Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me.  John 14:1

Scripture: I am coming soon. My reward is with me. I will give to each person according to what they have done.  Revelation 22:12

Scripture: Come quickly, Lord.  Revelation 22:20

Run To Jesus

Scripture: Let the one who is thirsty come and drink of the waters. Come and drink of the waters, free gift of waters, life-giving waters, come. Because…

Christ will return to judge the world on the last day.

Come again, Jesus. Come to Jesus! Run to Jesus!  Revelation 22:12, 17, 20

When Will Christ Return?

Answer: No one knows when Christ will return.

Scripture: But about that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.  Matthew 24:36

Scripture: Keep watch; you do not know on what day your Lord will come.  Matthew 24:42

Well Done Good And Faithful Servant

Scripture: I gave him five talents and ten I got back. I gave him two talents and four I got back. Well done, good and faithful servant, you’ve been faithful over a little; you’ve been faithful with what you’ve been given, well done. Enter into the joy of your master. I gave him one talent and one I got back. He dug a hole in the ground, only one I got back, he was afraid, he hid my talent, wicked and lazy one. Take his talent and give it to him who has ten talents. Don’t hide your talents in the ground, don’t bury your talents, don’t hide your gifts of God. Matthew 25

What Happens To A Man When He Dies?

Answer: The body returns to the dust, and the spirit will go to either heaven or hell.

Scripture: The wages of sin is death, but the free gift is eternal life in Christ.  Romans 6:23

What Will Happen When Christ Returns?

Answer: Our bodies will be raised from the dust, and united again with our spirits.

Scripture: And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh, I shall see God.  Job 19:25-27

What Will Happen To The Wicked On Judgment Day?

Answer: The wicked will go down on judgment day and will be cast into the lake of fire.

Scripture: And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.  Revelation 20:15

What Is The Lake Of Fire?

Answer: The lake of fire is a place of terrible and endless torment.

Scripture: If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. If your foot causes you to fall, cut it off. It is better to enter life maimed than with two hands and be thrown into hell.  Mark 9:43-44

What Will Happen To Every Christian On The Last Day?

Answer: Every Christian will live with Jesus in the new heavens and the new earth.

Scripture: Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For, you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-4

He Will Wipe Away Every Tear

Scripture: He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be not death; there will be no mourning, there will be no crying or pain.  Revelation 21:4

What Will The New Heavens And The New Earth Be Like?

Answer: The new heaven and the new earth will be a place of happiness and glory, where we believers will always be with the Lord.

Scripture: Never will they hunger; never will they thirst. Never will the sun beat down on them, they won’t be hurt. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:16-17
