The Gospel Coalition is committed to respecting the privacy rights of all parties who interact with the us. We are grateful for the trust you place in us. The following outlines our privacy policies and the details and measures that we take to protect your privacy. The information that The Gospel Coalition collects on our website is limited to the information you provide to us when you make a donation, register for an event, purchase products from our store, subscribe to a newsletter, provide information on one of our contact forms, surveys, job board, church directory, or regional chapter. The Gospel Coalition does not share this information with anyone outside of our organization or our service providers unless you expressly allow it, or we believe that it is necessary to comply with the law, protect a person’s safety, or address security issues. This privacy policy applies to the websites located at thegospelcoalition.org and tgc.org, including all international editions, regional chapters, job boards, church directories, subpages, successor pages, and web apps. Information you provide to us is understood to be in agreement with the policies detailed below.

With Consent (GDPR Article (6)(1)(a)) – you provide consent for us to contact you with relevant and specific information about our products and services. You can control which information you receive from us by updating your preferences. You have the right to withdraw consent anytime by unsubscribing or by contacting us directly. 

Through Contract (GDPR Article (6)(1)(b)) – you provide your information to us for the purpose of completing a service you have asked us to provide, such as making a donation, registering for an event, subscribing to an email newsletter, posting a job, adding your church to the church directory, contacting us through a contact form, submitting a survey, or fulfilling an order you have placed with us.

Online Donations

When you make a donation on The Gospel Coalition’s website, we collect your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, donation amount, and payment information. The personal information you provide to us is used to process your donation and to add you to our donor database, which includes an email address, mailing address, and phone list so that we may contact you about updates regarding your investment in the ministry of The Gospel Coalition. This information is protected using SSL encryption. Your payment information is securely transmitted to our payment processor in order to process the contribution and it is not stored on our end. We maintain your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and donation amount in order to comply with accounting requirements, manage receipting, and provide your donation history. If you want to change, update or remove your name and email address on our list, you can do that by clicking “Update Email” or “Unsubscribe” on the bottom of any received email or by emailing us. You may opt out of any phone and mail contact lists by emailing our donor ministries team

Newsletter Subscription

When you sign up for one of our newsletter lists, we collect your name and email address. We use this information to send you what you’ve requested from us (e.g., Daily or Weekly Email Update). We do not sell our mailing lists (email or physical), or your name and email address, with anyone outside of our organization. Occasionally we will send emails on behalf of a partner organization who we believe offer a product, event, or service that may interest our users. In those cases no data is ever shared with the partner organizations. If you want to change, update or remove your name and email address on our list, you can do that by clicking  “Update Email” or “Unsubscribe” on the bottom of any received email or by emailing us.

Event Registration

When you register for an event, we collect your name, billing address, email address, event related selections (eg., breakout session choices), add on products information (eg., conference books), church information, demographic information, and payment information. All information is protected using SSL encryption. We do not sell this information to any other party. We use the information that you provide to process your event registration, to communicate with you about the event, to send occasional updates from The Gospel Coalition, and notify you about future event opportunities. If you want to change, update or remove your name and email address on our list, you can do that by clicking “Update Email” or “Unsubscribe” on the bottom of any received email or by emailing us. Your payment information is securely transmitted to our payment processor in order to process the contribution and it is not stored on our end.

Other Registrations

When you register for TGC opportunities (eg., TGC Book Awards) we may collect your name, billing address, email address, product selections, and payment information. All information is protected using SSL encryption. We do not sell this information to any other party. We use the information that you provide to process your registration, to communicate with you about the opportunity you registered for, to send occasional updates from The Gospel Coalition, and notify you about future event opportunities. If you want to change, update or remove your name and email address on our list, you can do that by clicking “Update Email” or “Unsubscribe” on the bottom of any received email or by emailing us. Your payment information is securely transmitted to our payment processor in order to process the contribution and it is not stored on our end.

Store 

When you purchase items from The Gospel Coalition’s online store, we collect your name, email address, mailing address, payment information, and product purchase information. We do not sell this information to any other party. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of particular features. Your payment information is securely transmitted to our payment processor in order to process your transaction and it is not stored unless you request that we store your payment information in your personal store account. If you do choose to have your payment information stored, it is done so securely by our payment providers, SagePay. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as processing your orders, responding to your requests, customizing future shopping for you, improving our store, and communicating with you.

Amazon Associates  Disclosure

The Gospel Coalition is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When we provide a “Purchase from Amazon” button or include a link to Amazon.com for books or other products we may earn a small commission from those qualifying purchases. The Gospel Coalition does not collect or store any personal information related to these transactions.

Contact Page and Surveys

When you contact us through our contact form or a survey we collect your name, email address, contact message, and survey answers. All information is protected using SSL encryption. We do not sell this information to any other party. We use the information that you provide to respond to your requests, communicate with you, and gather survey data that you provide to us.

Church Directory

When you add your church to The Gospel Coalition’s Church Directory we require that you create a church account that collects personal information such as your name and your email. You also provide detailed information about your church including its name, address, senior pastor, mission statement, church contact person’s name and email address, website information, social media details, and you agree that your church affirms The Gospel Coalition’s Foundation Documents. The Gospel Coalition uses this information, once verified, to add you to the Church Directory. The Gospel Coalition reserves the right to remove your church account from the directory at its discretion. All information is protected using SSL encryption. We do not sell this information to any other party. We use the information that you provide to process your request for addition to the Church Directory and to communicate with you about the Church Directory or any other occasional updates that The Gospel Coalition chooses to send to church leaders. This information will not be given to or shared with anyone outside of The Gospel Coalition or our service providers unless you expressly allow it, or we believe that it is necessary to comply with the law, protect a person’s safety, or address fraud or security issues.

Job Board

When you add your job opening to The Gospel Coalition’s Job Board, we require that you create a profile that collects personal information such as your name and your email. In order to post a job we also collect information related to the position including information about the organization seeking the employee, the job title, job overview, description, and salary. To post a job you must affirm that the organization seeking to add a job is able to affirm The Gospel Coalition’s Foundation Documents. The Gospel Coalition uses this information, once verified, to add the employment opportunity to the Job Board. The Gospel Coalition reserves the right to remove any job posts or accounts from the Job Board at its discretion. All information is protected using SSL encryption. We do not sell this information. We do not share it with anyone outside of The Gospel Coalition or our service providers unless you expressly allow it, or we believe that it is necessary to comply with the law, protect a person’s safety, or address fraud or security issues.

Children’s Online Privacy

The Gospel Coalition’s websites are designed for the use of general audiences. We never knowingly collect or maintain information on our website from visitors we know are under the age of 13. Any website information collected by The Gospel Coalition from children under 18 is used only for the purpose of delivering the requested product or service. Please instruct your children to ask permission before providing any private information about themselves to The Gospel Coalition.
