On this episode of Help Me Teach the Bible, I talked with H. B. Charles Jr., TGC Council member and pastor of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, about the skill of boiling down our main points in teaching to simple and memorable sentences. We also talked about moving from manuscript to presentation and dealing with regret over speaking off-the-cuff in a way we wish we hadn’t.

Charles (Master’s Seminary and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary) is the Pastor and Teacher at the Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church of Jacksonville and Orange Park, Florida, where he has served since 2008. He is primarily responsible for preaching-teaching, vision casting, and leadership development. Outside of his ministry with his congregation, he regularly speaks and teaches at churches, conferences, and conventions around the country. He has contributed to several books and journals.
