On this episode of Help Me Teach the Bible, I talked with H. B. Charles Jr., TGC Council member and pastor of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, about the skill of boiling down our main points in teaching to simple and memorable sentences. We also talked about moving from manuscript to presentation and dealing with regret over speaking off-the-cuff in a way we wish we hadn’t.

Charles attended The Master’s Seminary and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and hosts the annual Cutting It Straight Expository Preaching Conference. His weekly sermons can be heard via the podcast Cutting It Straight with H. B. Charles Jr.

But the Gospels are historically reliable. And the evidence for this is vast.
