Darren Doane–a filmmaker and music video director who recently directed the movie Collision–recently gave a 45 minute talk on his approach to being a Christian and a filmmaker.
He made three points: (1) I don’t think you have the tools to be a filmmaker; (2) I don’t think you like to bleed; (3) the odds are that you are asleep in regard to your work ethic.
Doane never quotes Chesterton’s famous line–“Anything worth doing is worth doing badly”–but it’s a good summary of one of his key points. (HT: Doug Wilson)
