Job Overview

Grace Covenant Church is seeking a full-time Pastor to serve as one of three primary teachers on the Preaching Team and provide strategic leadership in adult discipleship. This pastor will preach approximately 10 times per year in the main worship service, teach regularly in other Sunday morning settings, and help shape the broader preaching, teaching, and discipleship strategy of the church.

This role will also oversee a key ministry area within adult discipleship, such as Young Adults, Care/Recovery, or Workplace Ministry. The pastor will build volunteer teams, develop leaders, create clear leadership pipelines, and implement a discipleship strategy that helps adults become like Christ in all of life.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep walk with Christ, strong biblical conviction, pastoral maturity, relational warmth, and alignment with the doctrine, values, and ministry philosophy of Grace Covenant Church.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

 

Preaching & Teaching  

  1. Serve as 1 of 3 primary teachers of the Preaching Team.
  2. Preach around 10 times per year from the pulpit and roughly 20 times per year in other Sunday morning settings, ensuring consistent quality.
  3. Collaborate on the preaching and teaching calendar.
  4. Serve as a teacher for other pastors, directors and ministry areas so that a solid philosophy of discipleship and Christian education exist at all levels.
  5. Coordinate in development of teaching curriculum for Discovery Courses, Adult Communities, seminars and other discipleship opportunities for the people of Grace.
  6. Help to train and develop current and future teachers.
  7. Seek to grow as a communicator and preacher.

 

Ministry Leadership      

  1. Oversee a new ministry area that expands our church impact in an area of adult discipleship. Possible options include Men’s, Young Adults, Care (Recovery), Workplace ministry.
  2. Develop a discipleship plan and implement a strategy to disciple adults in the assigned ministry area.
  3. Build a team of volunteers to lead the ministry area.
  4. Identify, recruit, and develop emerging leaders within the ministry area.
  5. Coach and care for key leaders through regular one-on-one investment, spiritual encouragement, and leadership development.
  6. Create clear leadership pipelines that move individuals to greater engagement.
  7. Research and benchmark best practices/methods to expand the scope of influence and discipleship for this area of ministry.

Job Status:

  • Full-Time (40-50 hours) Includes Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings
