Pastor of Spiritual Formation — Grace Community Presbyterian Church

Grace Community Presbyterian Church (PCA), located in Richmond’s northern suburbs (Hanover County), is seeking a full-time Pastor of Spiritual Formation. This pastor will lead the church’s discipleship efforts for college-aged adults and older, overseeing small groups, adult Sunday school, and men’s ministry, while developing dedicated Young Adult and College Ministry initiatives. The role partners closely with the Director of Women’s Ministry, lay leaders, and the Student and Grace Kids ministries to foster intergenerational spiritual growth, and includes staff support, elder-shepherding assistance, and occasional Sunday preaching.

The ideal candidate is a pastorally experienced shepherd of adults with strong relational skills, a track record of building and leading teams toward ministry goals, and the ability to identify and develop leaders. Personally, they should know their identity as a beloved child of God, value vulnerability and honesty, and share Grace Community’s mission of “building a home where people find belonging, rest, growth, and purpose in Jesus.”

Grace Community began in 2005 with 22 households and has grown to roughly 300 adults, students, and children, with a history of church planting (three former staff members have gone on to plant churches). Compensation is commensurate with experience.
