Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Student Ministry Leadership

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the church’s student ministry (middle school and high school).
• Plan and lead weekly student gatherings, Bible studies, discipleship opportunities, and special events.
• Build meaningful relationships with students and their families.
• Disciple students toward spiritual maturity and encourage involvement in worship, missions, and church life.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving in student ministry.
• Coordinate camps, retreats, mission opportunities, and outreach events.

Children’s Ministry Oversight

• Provide leadership, encouragement, and oversight for the church’s children’s ministry.
• Work alongside children’s ministry volunteers and leaders to ensure sound biblical teaching and safe ministry practices.
• Assist in recruiting, equipping, and supporting children’s ministry workers.
• Help coordinate children’s ministry programming, events, and outreach efforts.
• Ensure all child safety and security policies are followed.

Family Ministry Support

• Support the Senior Pastor in developing and implementing a Christ-centered vision for family discipleship within the church.
• Encourage and equip parents to serve as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
• Foster unity and cooperation between children’s ministry, student ministry, and the broader church body.
• Assist the Senior Pastor in planning and coordinating ministry opportunities that strengthen families and encourage spiritual growth.

Pastoral Ministry Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and encouragement to church families.
• Assist the Senior Pastor in fulfilling the overall mission and ministry of the church.
• Participate in worship services, church events, visitation, outreach, and other pastoral duties as assigned.
• Preach or teach during worship services as requested.
• Conduct counseling and discipleship related to marriage, parenting, and spiritual growth as needed.

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a growing relationship with Him.
• A calling to pastoral ministry and a passion for discipling families and students.
• Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and the doctrines of the Southern Baptist Convention.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with volunteers, parents, students, and church leadership.
• Previous ministry experience preferred.
• Formal theological training is beneficial but not required.

• Be faithful in worship attendance, personal spiritual disciplines, and church involvement.
• Demonstrate humility, integrity, and a servant’s heart.
• Support the vision, mission, and ministries of the church.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise wisdom in pastoral relationships.

• The Bivocational Family Life Pastor will serve under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and in cooperation with church leadership.

Work Schedule & Compensation

This is a bivocational, part-time position requiring flexibility in scheduling, including Sundays, Wednesday evenings, and ministry events.

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and church budget.
