One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.” Psalm 27:4

We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”. 2 Cor. 3:18

Lord Jesus, I’ve asked you for many things over the years, for you are a most generous Savior, powerful King, and loving Bridegroom. As I get older, however, my prayers are getting more focused on just a few central cravings. Ever since you first revealed yourself to me, I’ve known you to be true and so good, Jesus. But I intensely crave a greater revelation of your beauty—your heart-palpitating, knee-buckling, life-giving loveliness.

You give me air to breath only a daily basis; but take my breath away with a heart-sighting of your matchless splendor, radiance, and beauty, Jesus. It’s no mere experience I long for… I truly long for more of you, Jesus. I ask this for me, and all my praying friends.

Heal the eyes of our hearts, Jesus—take away the astigmatism, cataracts, the myopia… whatever keeps us from seeing you as you truly are. Burn from our memory all the wrong, unworthy, distorted images we’ve had of you. We long for the Day when we will see you as you are, Jesus, and we will be made like you (1 John 3:1-3). Here’s the biggest So Very Amen we can possibly muster.
