Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27
Lord Jesus, thank you for another day to rest in your love, boast in your cross, and grow in your grace. Only you are worthy of our worship, love, and trust. It’s why we take your declaration in this verse seriously. There are no limits to what you can do—none, zilch, zip. But there is an eternity of wisdom, an ocean of grace, and a Trinity-sized supply of love that determines the difference between “can do” and “will do.”
Grant us grace to accept how you take our “impossibilities” and either replace them with a better providence, fulfill them in ways we can’t imagine, or choose to reserve some of your “best work” till heaven. But in the personal category of “this-is-impossible-for-me-alone”—here’s what I ask you to do in me and through me, Jesus.
I want to pray without ceasing, forgive without resenting, and live without comparing.
I want a photographic memory of the Gospel, and a mercy-transformed memory of wrongs done against me.
I want to be non-defensive and humble when confronted; and quicker than ever to repent, repair, and rejoice in the wonders of your grace.
I want to listen to others, not just hear their words—listening with a curious heart, not a critical spirit.
I want to know you better than I ever have, Jesus, and enjoy deeper intimacy and fellowship with you.
I want your joy to be my strength, your Kingdom to be my first-sought reality, and your glorious return to shape how I think about the rest of my days till that Day.
Jesus, fill my heart with so much of your truth, goodness, and beauty I will come right up to the edge of doxological explosion! Hallelujah, and So Very Amen.
