Kindle Deal: Sending Well: A Field Guide to Great Church Planter Coaching by Dino Senesi. $2.99.

Seven of the best articles I came across this week:

1. Pamela Haag – Death By Treacle. Sentiment surfaces fast and runs hot in public life, dumbing it down and crippling intimacy in private life.

2. Sarah Zylstra – Ask and You Shall EvangelizeGreat overview of recent shifts in apologetics in the last decade, seen primarily in the ministry and influence of Tim Keller.

3. Younger evangelicals look a lot like older evangelicals, post 2016. Despite some interesting recent anecdotes, surveys show young evangelicals to be much more conservative than others of their generation.

4. Maria Popova – Perspective in the Age of OpinionTimely wisdom from a century ago in the work of Chesterton.

5. Rani Molla and Kurt Wagner – Social media growth is over in the U.S.  Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat are no longer adding new users in the United States. Facebook’s daily user base has been the same for the past three quarters. Twitter and Snapchat have both lost users in the U.S. or North America, respectively, in back-to-back quarters.

6. Mike Bird interviews Tom Schreiner on his new and updated commentary on Romans. Two of my favorite theologians in conversation!

7. Rachel Greenspan – The Mysterious Story of the Last American Soldier to Die in World War IThe last American to die in World War I didn’t really want to fight in the first place — which makes his decision to run ahead toward enemy lines all the more confusing.
