This Time I’m Asking for Us!

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Gospel from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Phil.1:3-6

Dear Praying Friends, the format of this prayer is different from my usual daily posts, both with regard to the time of day and it’s style and content. Instead of my praying for, this time I’m asking you to pray for me. Darlene and I just arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland—the beginning of three weeks in the UK to encourage ministry couples we dearly love and who love us “bodaciously” well.

I’ll be teaching/preaching here in Edinburgh, then in Manchester, England, and finally in County Donegal, Ireland. We love being here, and we love what Jesus is doing throughout the UK, and indeed, throughout the entire world. We covet your prayers—for us and for those with whom we are honored to spend time.

Darlene and I begin these three weeks a bit weary, tired, older, and totally in need of the God who raises the dead to do his work—in us, not just in our friends here. We learned a long time ago that Abba does his best work through us in our weakness, so we qualify!

With all of you, we are grateful that our Father will complete the good work our Father began in us, in each of you, and his entire cosmos. The final third of 2024 isn’t a time for fear but faith—faith expressing itself in love, all the way into the new heaven and new earth. So Very Amen. Love, Scotty
