“The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—(Jesus) has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!“ Luke 2:11
Lord Jesus, angels “harked,” shepherds scurried, Maji traveled, and Herod trembled… all because you were born. And, hallelujah, we now rejoice and rest. For you are the promised Messiah, our perfect Savior, and reigning King. Our joy is great, our peace is deep, and our hope is overflowing.
More than air, water, a “re-do” or anything to be different, we need you. You are Immanuel—God with us and God for us. You are the Lamb of God, who has taken away our sins—all of them.
You are the Lord of Lords—presently ruling over kingdoms, history, and our heartaches. You are the Lamp of the New City (Rev. 21:23)—the guarantee and glory of our coming life in the new heaven and new earth.
Jesus, in you we have complete forgiveness, perfect righteousness, and our Father’s favor. You are the resolution of all our fears, and our perfect peace in a perfectly broken world. You are the fulfiller of our deepest longings and redeemer of our hardest stories..
Until the very second of your 2nd coming, you care for us with tenacious tenderness and inexhaustible grace. History isn’t random, it’s the storyboard of your greatness and grace. You are actively redeeming your every-nation Bride, making all things new, and working in all things for our good.
Hallelujah… everything broken has an expiration date, and everything beautiful has an arrival date. Defeated-evil will be eradicated-evil. Jesus, thank you! Until the much-craved Day, we want to worship you with passion, serve you with joy, and love others as you love us. So Very Amen.
