When Jesus came into Peter’s house,
he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him… This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.” Matt. 8:14-17 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, you are a most wonderful, merciful Savior. We praise, bless and adore you for everything you are, everything you’ve done for us, and all that you continue to do for us.
We’re thankful every aspect of our lives matters to you—mind, body, and spirit. We long for the Day when we will be completely healthy and whole—a Day guaranteed by your life, death, and resurrection.
The coronavirus has only intensified that longing, and the early morning Tornado in Nashville, TN. Be with scientists working 24/7 on a vaccine; medical leaders tasked with preparing cities, clinics, and hospitals for the “what if’s”; and those caring for the infected.
On this March Tuesday, our cry is simple, humble, and earnest. Please bring your healing power to bear to those we love and cherish—even before the great Day of complete healing. By supernatural intervention, good medical care, or any means you choose—we ask you to touch us as you touched Peter’s mother-in-law.
We crave the eternal-Day of cancer-less life and Asthma-free breathing, no more Achilles tears and global viruses, perfect memory and perfect everything. Lord Jesus, hurry the Day of no more broken bones, broken relationships, broken promises, broken country, or broken hearts.
Until the Day of perfect healing, grant us a wondrous measure of your sufficient grace (2 Cor. 12:9). Heal our unbelief, Jesus. Free us to know all we really need in life is you, plus what you choose to give us.
Increase our joy, peace, and trust—supersize them. Make yourself more precious to us than anything or anyone—including our healing. So very Amen we pray, in your worship-worthy and trustworthy name.
