I said to the Lord, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you. The godly people in the land are my true heroes! … Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.” Psalm 16:2-5

Lord Jesus, preparing to fly home from Dublin to Nashville and my cup overflows and my heart is full. Thank you for an incredible anniversary trip, a soul-encouraging time with friends, and reignited joy about your work in the world. Thank you.

My response to David’s words in Psalm 16 is a quick and unmuted, “Yea, Verily, and Amen!” You are Master and Redeemer, Creator and Re-Creator, Bridegroom and Inheritance. You are the fountain of lasting pleasures, the wellspring of eternal joy, and the One from whom all blessings flow, and by whom all brokenness and evil has an expiration date.

You love us lavishly and redeem fully. Compared to you, all other “riches” are “fool’s gold” and empty-nothings. The “excellency of knowing you” changed all price tags (Phil. 3:8). Life is now You and death has become gain (Phil. 1:21).

You are the quintessential, eternal Hero of the entire Bible and all of history. My “cup of blessing” is a bottomless tankard of mercy, grace, and love. My “inheritance” (along with your entire every-nation Bride) has nothing to do with stock portfolios, “family money,” or wise investments. It is You. And with you comes life forever in the perfect-every-world of the new heaven and new earth.

Jesus, I (we) feel heart-palpitating grateful. Free us to live and love to your glory until the Day of all things new. So Very Amen.
