“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in ALL our troubles, so we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Cor.1:3-4)
“We had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus.” (2 Cor.7:5-6)
Heavenly Father, like every day, on this Tuesday September 2026 you are “the Father of mercies and God of all comfort (2 Cor.1:3-5). Hallelujah! When we are like Paul—restless, downcast, conflicted, and fearful, you don’t chide, coach, or criticize us. You come near in love. Though you can send birds to feed us, angels to deliver us, or a gentle breeze to sooth us—you love to send friends to encourage us, and you find delight in sending us to our friends.
Thank you for the Gospel-soaked, Spirit-sensitive friends you have given us, Abba. They live drenched with morning mercy because they live in dependence on you and delight in you. They walk with a limp, smell like your kindness, speak healing words, and always have a fresh supply of your grace to share.
Titus came to Paul and Jonathan cared for David. Naomi welcomed Ruth, and Priscilla and Aquila took time for Apollos (Acts 18:24-26). Philemon was a “refresher to Paul and many others” (Phile.1:7). Four friends will meet in heaven carried their crippled, grace-needy friend to Jesus (Mk.2:1-12).
Father, thank you for our friends who come to heart and mind right now as conduits of your mercy, grace, Gospel-sanity, and comfort. May we increasingly live and love as they do all the way Home. SoVery Amen.
