“I will not sin against the LORD by failing or ceasing to pray for you. (1Sam.12:23)
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” (Eccl.4:9-10)
“Bear each other’s burdens, for this is how you fulfill the law of Christ—which is the law of love.” (pp Gal.6:2)
Heavenly Father, I’m especially thankful on this cold, icy, WIFI-less Monday for the friends you’ve put in my life. The older I get, the more I treasure them. Out of sight doesn’t have to mean out of mind—and it dare not mean out of heart. Our friends are most precious and most essential in life.
The one thing that’s always going to be atop my prayer list for my friends is their relationship with you. Abba, by your Holy Spirit, continue to reveal more and more of your great love for us in Jesus. Dazzle their hearts (and mine) afresh with the reach and riches of your Fatherly care, and with your 100% total sovereignty over all things all the time.
Restore all of us to our first love, first peace, and first joy of knowing Jesus. Whatever else happens in 2026, that’s most to be desired, because it’s most needful and most impactful on everything else in our lives. We “leak” grace; refuel us. We always need your Spirit’s infilling; fill us up.
Be palpably near my friends in difficult seasons of life (that would be all of us)—friends weighed down with burdens of health and relationships, old wounds yielding fresh pain, and new stories bearing uncertain outcomes. Show us how to put arms and legs on our prayers for each other, Abba. Always keep our “to love list” longer than any “to do list.” So Very Amen.
