Update on Our Content and Editorial Standards

For more than two decades, The Gospel Coalition has resourced the church by publishing original articles and, in our earliest days, hosting a number of independent bloggers. We’re grateful for the writers who have helped establish TGC as one of the most trusted Christian websites.

Given the ever-changing dynamics of how people find and engage our content (especially with the rise of AI-assisted search) and a desire for ministry-wide consistency, TGC’s Board recommended bringing all our content under the same editorial standard. As part of this process, our team of editors, at the direction of TGC’s president and Board, has begun a phased review of all our historically independent blog content with the goal of assessing what pieces to preserve and what content to remove, whether because it’s dated, irrelevant, or misaligned with TGC’s missional focus.

We’ve begun the first phase of this process, and we hope to complete this review in time for our redesigned and rebuilt website in early 2027.

Free eBook by Tim Keller: ‘The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness’

Imagine a life where you don’t feel inadequate, easily offended, desperate to prove yourself, or endlessly preoccupied with how you look to others. Imagine relishing, not resenting, the success of others. Living this way isn’t far-fetched. It’s actually guaranteed to believers, as they learn to receive God’s approval, rather than striving to earn it.

In Tim Keller’s short ebook, The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness: The Path To True Christian Joy, he explains how to overcome the toxic tendencies of our age一not by diluting biblical truth or denying our differences一but by rooting our identity in Christ.

TGC is offering this Keller resource for free, so you can discover the “blessed rest” that only self-forgetfulness brings.
