Communications Associate

Job Overview

The Communications Associate will be responsible for departmental project management, editing existing designs, creating social media graphics, copywriting for social posts, and collaborating with the Communications department team members to pursue the mission and vision of Citizens Church.

Job Description

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements
  • Flexibility of schedule, including nights and weekends, as needed by the ministry
  • Must demonstrate a clear background check
  • Perform other duties as required 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES

  • Manage projects using Asana
  • Create and design various materials for digital and print media
  • Perform quality assurance processes for communication projects
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and ministries to develop, coordinate, and complete projects
  • Develop content and manage social media communications
  • Update and edit webpages and church app pages 
  • Edit video and photos for digital media formats

 

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in design/marketing or related field or currently pursuing degree in one of these areas 
  • 1-2 years experience with social media content development
  • Experience with project management, preferably Asana, but not required
  • Direct experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro), or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus
  • Experience with various website platform and applications 
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Participate in all staff activities (i.e. staff meeting, staff prayer, staff retreat, and restore)
