Five hundred years after the Reformation began, most of the population in Latin America has heard about crucifixion and the resurrection of Christ, yet millions still do not know how a person can obtain salvation in and through the crucified and resurrected Christ they worship. For most of them, salvation is the result of grace plus good works. In addition, the latest and most popular gospel preached by the “evangelical” church in our region—the so-called prosperity gospel—is no gospel at all. This time we need a Reformation so wide that it includes the “evangelical” church of our day.
