Heavenly Father, thank you for a fresh day, new mercies, and copious grace. And thank you for this eternally established, most to be celebrated headline: “The Gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world.”
All other headlines are just momentary observations, biased commentary, and redundant reports. The Gospel is the Good News of everything you have signed on for, secured, and are bringing to pass through Jesus’ finished work and the active work of your Holy Spirit. Hallelujah and thank you, Abba!
We’re not exaggerating when we sing, “This Is My Father’s World”—because all of it is. One Day the entire earth will be filled with your glory (Hab.2:14). One Day Jesus will return and will finish making all things new (Rev.21:5). One Day you will complete your good and glorious Gospel-work inside us (Phil.1:6).
Faith not fear is the order of this and every day. Worship not worry should fill our hearts and shape our lives. Bold, loving mission—not belligerent, partisan politics, deserve the best of us for the rest of lives. Why pamper ourselves into mediocrity when we can forget ourselves unto an eternity of knowing, loving, and serving you?
Father, Paul’s words about “truly understanding your grace” isn’t a helpful thing, it’s an essential, glorious reality. Continue to deepen our understanding and experience of the riches of your grace. As the Gospel continues to bear fruit throughout the whole world, what fruit do you intend the Gospel to bear in each of our lives and in our church families? We ask this humbly, gratefully, and expectantly. So Very Amen.
