Lord Jesus, what a succinct and  helpful summary of the entire Christian life: “Acting in line with the truth of the Gospel” isn’t just to be the “gold standard,” but the grace-standard for all of our relationships—really, for everything we do as those who belong to you:

How we think and how we speak.

How we spend time and spend money.

How we lead and how we serve.

How we plan and how we conflict.

How we handle success and how we suffer.

How we “friend,” “spouse,” and parent.

Jesus may everything we do be shaped and fueled by the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Gospel. Practically speaking, what will this look like? It means we will care more about your glory than our anything.

  • More about “faith expressing itself in love” than us expressing ourselves to win.
  • More about finding our place in your Story than securing our place in the “Org Chart.”
  • More about helping others succeed than using anyone for our fulfillment.
  • More about finishing life well, kind, and grateful than finishing with more trophies, acclaim, and comfort.

Jesus, free us to live and love this way all the way Home. Thank you for being our “righteousness, holiness, and redemption” (1Cor.1:30). Thank you for being our reason for being, our greatest joy, and our eternal inheritance. Hallelujah and So Very Amen.
