“Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together” (Col.1:15-17).
Lord Jesus, we are SO grateful that..
- We didn’t decide to give you a chance; you decided to raise us from the dead.
- You aren’t our 2nd or 17th chance; you are our perfect “righteousness, holiness, and redemption.”
- We didn’t invite you into our hearts; you gave us a new heart and new life.
- There is more mercy and grace in you than sin and brokenness in us.
- There aren’t any “might-be’s” with you; there is just your sovereign might, action, and timetable.
- We don’t “make you lord” of anything; you are already Lord of all things everywhere, all the time.
- You aren’t making all new things; you are making all things new.
- We aren’t in a story of replacement or re-do; we’re in your big Story of redemption and renewal.
- You’re not going to become Lord of lords one day; you already are and much more.
- You aren’t pulling for us in heaven; you are living inside us and our lives are hidden in yours.
- Your hands aren’t tied without our permission; you never need our permission to do anything, anytime.
- You are working in all things for our good all the time; no exceptions, yes-but’s, or possibilities. Hallelujah a gazillion times over!
Jesus, thank you for saving us, loving us, and guaranteeing that one Day we will be 100% with you and like you. Hallelujah and So Very Amen.
