All by God’s Grace, All for God’s Glory

Titus 2:11 – “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people”

Heavenly Father, your grace “appeared” in our lives like a Coast Guard rescue basket lowered to us in a raging sea. Actually, it was more like Jesus speaking words of resurrection to a dead Lazarus, “Come forth!” Thank you for your irresistible, indefatigable, inexhaustible grace you pour out on us generously in Jesus.

Titus 2:12 – “training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age…”

The same grace that justified us, is now training and transforming us—freeing us to say “Yes!” to more of Jesus, and “No” to the things that contradict the Gospel and your beauty. It’s all by grace, all for your glory.

Titus 2:13-14 – “waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”

We now live by hope, not hype; with peace, not presumption; in your mercies, not our merit. When Jesus returns, we will see him as he is, and we will be made completely like him. Hallelujah! Until then…

Keep intensifying our passion for Jesus, Christlikeness, and good works.

Keep burning the self-itis, grace-allergies, and lovelessness from our lives.

Keep freeing us from under-believing the Gospel, and over-believing our fears.

So very Amen we pray, in Jesus’ magnificent and merciful name.
