The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Cor. 13:14
Most glorious God, this loving benediction from Paul reminds me that I’m quite at home in my finiteness and thankful for the infinite wonder of your Triune-ness. Mystery is now a good friend, not an off-putting intruder. It’s no longer about explaining you as a Triune God, but about worshiping you with joy and surrendering in adoration.
Lord Jesus, what more could we possibly want, or need, than for your grace to be with us today? It was by your grace we received eternal life; it’s by your grace we’re being transformed into your likeness; and by your grace we’ll enjoy the perfections of life in the new heaven and new earth. We praise you for your saving, sustaining, and sufficient grace.
Heavenly Father, what more could we possibly ask for today than a fresh awareness of your everlasting, always-welcoming, heart-liberating love? We rest in your promise that nothing will ever separate us from your love. Because of what Jesus has accomplished for us, you’ll never love us more than you do today, and you’ll never love us less.
Holy Spirit, what more could we possibly long for today than fellowship with you? For you are constantly reminding us that we are the beloved daughters and sons of Abba, Father; you are steadfastly praying the Father’s will deep inside our hearts; and you are faithfully making us like Jesus, when we’re are of it and when we’re not. What a privileged and wanted, secured and cared-for people we are.
Yes indeed, may your grace, Lord Jesus; your love, Abba, Father; and your fellowship, blessed Holy Spirit, be with us, all day long. So very Amen we pray, in Jesus’ trustworthy and triumphant name. Amen.
