What kind of churches are listed on the TGC Church Directory?

Every church listed on the TGC Church Directory has affirmed the doctrinal and ministry statements, taken from our Foundation Documents. While we cannot guarantee the actual health of these churches as they are self-regulated, we believe these statements help to ensure the churches listed are aligned with The Gospel Coalition’s doctrine and vision for ministry.

  1. Our church affirms the mission of TGC to renew the contemporary church in the ancient gospel of Christ through the ordinary means of his grace: prayer, the ministry of the Word, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the fellowship of the saints.
  2. Our church’s confessional statement is in harmony with and does not contradict what is set forth in the TGC Confessional Statement, and our church is broadly Reformed in its teaching.
  3. Our church holds that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
  4. Our church affirms that God perfectly and exhaustively knows the end from the beginning, sustains and sovereignly rules over all things, and providentially brings about his eternal good purposes to redeem a people for himself and restore his fallen creation.
  5. Our church teaches that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
  6. Our church teaches that by his powerful and mysterious work, the Holy Spirit regenerates spiritually dead sinners, awakening them to repentance and faith.
  7. Our church affirms that God created Adam and Eve to complement each other in a one-flesh union that establishes the only normative pattern of sexual relations for men and women.
  8. Our church affirms that in marriage God ordains that husband and wife assume distinctive roles which reflect the loving relationship between Christ and the church, the husband exercising headship in a way that displays the caring, sacrificial love of Christ, and the wife submitting to her husband in a way that models the love of the church for her Lord.
  9. Our church is complementarian in its practice such that the distinctive leadership role within the church (the senior/lead pastor and elders or other governing church leaders) is given to qualified men who meet the standards of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  10. Our church affirms the bodily resurrection of the unjust to judgment and eternal conscious punishment in hell and the just to eternal blessedness in the presence of the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth.
  11. Our church supports TGC’s Theological Vision for Ministry including an emphasis on expository preaching from the Scriptures.
  12. Our church desires to partner with The Gospel Coalition to promote gospel-centered ministry locally and globally.

To start the process create an account, complete payment, and follow the prompts on the screen to complete your account creation. If your church has multiple locations, you will be able to add your first location as part of the account creation process and then log in to add the others.

Membership in the church directory is $100/year for each church location.

Yes! All churches previously in the directory will be taken down, and only those who go through the new process will remain.

All churches will need to create a new account to join the new church directory. Access has been removed from all previous church directory accounts.
