Anchor Church is seeking a Christ-centered Lead Pastor to lovingly shepherd our church through relational leadership, the development of healthy disciples and leaders, and faithful biblical preaching. The ideal candidate is a humble, relational leader with a deep commitment to Scripture, a proven ability to develop others, and a passion for building a disciple-making church where ministry is shared rather than centered on one individual.
The Role at a Glance
We are seeking a Lead Pastor who is a gifted expositional preacher, a humble shepherd, and
a low-ego team builder. Serving as a ‘first among equals’ alongside our Elder Board, you will
lead our teaching team, articulate visionary direction, and equip the body for decentralized
ministry rather than building a church around a single personality.

We believe a church is healthiest when elders provide spiritual oversight, pastors equip the
saints, and members actively carry out ministry (Ephesians 4:11–16). Anchor is
intentionally structured around plural leadership and shared ministry. The Lead Pastor
plays a crucial role in guarding theological clarity, multiplying leaders, sharing the pulpit,
and shepherding a culture that remains resilient for the next decades to come.
Primary Responsibilities
• Shepherding & Care: Oversee discipleship pathways (membership, baptism, etc.) and
provide direct coaching and encouragement for staff and key volunteer leaders.
• Shared Teaching & Multiplication: Intentionally mentor, develop, and share the pulpit
with gifted teachers within the congregation.
• Vision & Elder Plurality: Partner collaboratively with the Elder Board to align ministry
priorities, navigate change with wisdom, and foster a vibrant culture of prayer and
evangelism.
• Leadership Development: Build simple, intentional pipelines to identify, train, and
deploy small group leaders, ministry teams, and future elders.
• Expositional Preaching & Teaching: Serve as a regular preacher, faithfully delivering
Christ-centered, expository sermons that speak to both believers and seekers.
