It is not uncommon for people to accuse the so-called “God of the Old Testament” of hating women. But is this accusation fair? And if not, how do we answer questions about allegedly “misogynistic” Old Testament texts? In this workshop we will consider Scripture’s redemptive historical context, establish some basic principles for Old Testament ethics, and take a closer look at two particularly challenging passages.
