Bethany Church is a community of believers who seek to glorify God and see people

After a season of transition during the pandemic and a new Lead Pastor, Bethany is a
place where the people are eager to serve and excited about what God is doing among
the congregation. We are looking for a Student Ministry Pastor to be a part of our team
and help us transform the next generation into disciples of Jesus.
General Description of Position
The Student Ministry Pastor is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and vision
for ministry to Middle School and High School students. The focus is to help students of
Bethany Church understand the gospel, own their faith, and be prepared to remain
lifelong followers of Jesus. This position will report to the Lead Pastor.
Job Responsibilities
Student Discipleship
Develop and implement gatherings, programs, and opportunities for Students to
understand what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and how to apply biblical truths to
their lives. Build healthy relationships with students to encourage them to take the next
step in their faith journey.
Volunteer Recruitment and Development
Identify, recruit, equip, and develop a volunteer ministry team for effective ministry to
students. This includes communicating information concerning gatherings and future
events, ensuring volunteers have the appropriate training, empowering them to serve
students well, and encouraging their own growth in Christ.
Build Partnerships with Parents
Cultivate a partnership with parents through communication, teaching, and equipping to
help them effectively disciple their students, and teaching them how to navigate both the
challenges of being a student and parenting a student.
Oversee Planning and Logistics
Develop a yearly calendar of gatherings and events, develop an ongoing teaching
calendar for mid-week and Sunday morning gatherings, maintain and organize student
ministry equipment and facilities, and assist in the development and management of an
annual budget for Student Ministry.
Integrate Students into the Full Life of the Church
Seek creative ways to involve students in the full life of the church to help build
discipleship relationships and prepare them for life after high school.
Be a Part of a Collaborative Team
Participate in service planning and improvement meetings, be a part of discussing
future vision and direction for student ministry and the church as a whole, assist in
baptisms, weddings, and funerals, and potentially be a part of the Sunday Worship
Teaching Team.
Qualifications
Education
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a staff member in a
student ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical
Studies or related field is strongly preferred (Extensive ministry experience can be
substituted for a degree in some cases)
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Must be an active member of Bethany Church;
- Must adhere to the Statement of Faith of Bethany Church; and
- Must be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others.
- Must be a positive, energetic person who has a passion for students and seeing
them grow in their faith.
- Must be effective in communicating in a team environment, possess good
decision-making skills, and be effective in staying organized.
- Must rightly handle the Word of God and be effective in teaching biblical truths in
a clear and relatable way.
Certifications, Licenses, And Registrations
- Complete Mandated Reporter Training and maintain current requirements.
- CPR and First Aid training; and
- Live scanned.
Equipment and Applications
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment; and
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Outlook, etc.);
