Job Overview

Purpose of Position: As part of the Next Generation Team, the Children’s Ministry Associate will provide administrative support and assist the Children’s Pastor in providing leadership to children and their families to be disciples who Come, Grow, Serve, and Go.

Relates Closely with: Children’s Ministry Team and Next Generation Team

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative Support
    • Manage metrics, attendance reports, check requests, budget, calendars, website, and social media accounts
    • Proof and assist with all public communications
    • Assist with graphics, promotions, and mailers for events
    • Assist with cross-team coordinated efforts
    • Become proficient with church management software

 

  1. Ministry Responsibilities
    • Assist the Children’s Pastor with the planning and execution of Sunday morning programming and Wednesday night activities
    • Assist the Children’s Pastor with the planning and execution of any additional events, retreats, and trips
    • Connect with families, students, guests, and leaders
    • Help support, coach, and connect with leaders
    • Choose, create, and lead stage games

 

  1. Team Player
    • Work with the Next Generation Team to execute relationship events and other additional outreach opportunities
    • Attendance at weekly, monthly, and irregular staff and cross team meetings
    • Connect Children’s Ministry families into the Church & Home strategy
    • Assist in the planning and execution of Next Generation Team and Church-wide events
    • Participate in church wide “all hands on deck” events as directed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Some ministry and administrative experience preferred

 

Time Requirement

  • 40+ hours per week/ ‘whatever it takes’ mentality; occasional night and weekend work as required
  • Time for this position would include office hours, Children’s Ministry events, as well as other Next Generation Team special events
