Job Description

Duties

• Work closely with the Lead Pastor to develop weekly service plans that fit with the series theme.
• Implement all musical and creative elements of worship gatherings and other events during the week.
• Lead worship regularly on Sunday mornings, and team rehearsals (currently Thursday evenings).
• Mentor and shepherd worship teams.
• Recruit new musicians and vocalists.

Expectations

• Must be a person of godly character, filled with the Spirit and evidencing the fruit of the Spirit.
• Must agree with our Vision, Values and Statement of Faith.
• Established worship leader with strong skills as a musician and vocalist.
• Loves contemporary worship music and yet has an appreciation for traditional hymns.
• Accomplished in organizing instrumental and vocal parts and providing clear direction to the team.
• Skilled in the use of the Nashville numbering system and in selecting keys in singable ranges.
• Proficient in selecting music multi-tracks conducive to a clear and worshipful music mix.
• Familiar with worship lyric types, song categories, musical moods; and able to artfully craft an engaging service conducive to heartfelt worship.
• Has a strong stage presence.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the Bible, especially as it applies to worship.
• Possess’ a pastoral heart and love for people; ability to lead a team of volunteers and work effectively with staff and leadership teams.
• This full-time position would include other ministry within the church in keeping with the applicant’s gifting and experience and per mutual agreement at the time of hiring. This person would report directly to the Lead Pastor.
