THE TEMPLE OF JESUS’ BODY: THE TEMPLE THEME IN THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

Written by Alan R. Kerr Reviewed By Alistair I. Wilson

This is a published version of thesis written under the supervision of Dr Paul Trebilco. It is a technical work and will be of most use to those who have completed several years’ training in biblical studies and the biblical languages. Kerr aims to demonstrate that ‘the complex of Temple life’ is ‘a significant strand of thought’ in the Gospel of John (2). He proceeds to examine a significant amount of material from the Gospel under headings such as ‘A New Centre of Worship’, ‘the Temple Festivals’ and ‘Possible High Priestly and Temple Allusions’.
