THE SYMPHONY OF SCRIPTURE—MAKING SENSE OF THE BIBLE’S MANY THEMES

Written by Mark Strom Reviewed By David Kingdon

This book, which is a straightforward reprint of a work which was first published about 1990, was originally entitled Days are Coming (see p. 265). Because it has not been revised in any way there is no mention of the considerable number of books and articles that have appeared in the field of biblical theology since it was first published.

Storm’s method is to develop the Bible’s story line in self-contained chapters that link to the preceding one. Each chapter ends with some discussion questions and some exercises. The author recommends that readers read one chapter at a time and then consider the questions and do the exercises.

Though dated, as I have already indicated, this book still has great value. In these days when even many of those preparing for the ministry have a woefully inadequate knowledge of the content of Scripture, great profit could be gained from the conscientious study of this book.
