The Mission of the Church in the World: A Biblical Theology

Written by Roger E. Hedlund Reviewed By Craig Blomberg

The compartmentalization of knowledge makes cross-disciplinary studies so difficult these days. Long-time missionary in India and church growth specialist, Hedlund makes a yeoman effort at mastering biblical studies in order to write a biblical theology of missions. He probably comes as close to pulling it off as any recent missiologist. At times he depends on outdated sources and betrays no awareness of recent biblical criticism, but in general this is the most comprehensive survey now available of the implications for evangelism and missions of each of the major sections of the biblical corpus.
