INTERPRETING GALATIANS

Written by Moises Silva Reviewed By Alistair I. Wilson

This is essentially a reprint, with minor corrections, of a book published as Explorations in Exegetical Method: Galatians as a Test Case in 1996. The only notable differences from the original version are the new title, the omission of some incorrect statistics from page 76 relating to the ‘hina plus subjunctive’ Greek construction and the inclusion of an article on ‘Paul’s Use of Scripture: Interpreting Galatians 3:6–14’ as an appendix. This remains an extremely valuable aid to detailed analysis of Galatians for those who have some competence in Greek. Readers without Greek would have to use it more selectively, but would still benefit from several chapters on history of exegesis, the relationship between Acts and Galatians, the date of Galatians and more besides. It is unlikely that readers who already own the original edition will wish to spend more money on the revised edition.
