Join seasoned counselors Alasdair Groves and Darby Strickland for an extended discussion on the slew of pressures, expectations, temptations, and limitations that lead toward burnout. This discussion will address the whole spectrum of strains leaders in ministry face, and the way Scripture reframes both the struggle of burnout and also the biblical response.
Alasdair Groves
Alasdair Groves (MDiv, Westminster Theological Seminary) serves as the executive director of the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF), as well as a faculty member and counselor. He co-founded a biblical counseling center in New England where he served as director for ten years. Alasdair has published articles in the Journal of Biblical Counseling, hosts CCEF’s podcast, and is the co-author of Untangling Emotions. Alasdair and his wife, Lauren, live in New England with their three children.

Darby Strickland
Darby Strickland is a counselor and faculty member at CCEF and holds a Master of Divinity with a counseling emphasis. A nationally recognized expert, Darby brings particular passion and expertise in helping the vulnerable and oppressed, especially women in abusive marriages. She has contributed to training curricula, has written for the Journal of Biblical Counseling, and is the author if Is it Abuse? Darby and her husband, John, have three children.
