The Big Picture
First Baptist Church (https://www.facebook.com/6lasanimas/?ref=py_c) is seeking a full time Pastor who will serve faithfully, preach the Word of God, shepherd the Flock, exemplify godly character and equip the Church.
The Church
Our vision is to provide for the public worship of God, to teach and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to promote the interest of the Kingdom of God as taught in the Scriptures. We have been in our present location at Locust Ave and Sixth St. since 1953. We are blessed with a modern debt free church facility that seats 180 people with manicured grounds and room for expansion. We also provide a well maintained spacious 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath parsonage with attached 2 car garage (less than a mile from the church) with a very large, finished, full basement. It has been, occasionally been used for small group home ministries. Schools K-12 are within walking distance. Our congregation is stable with approximately 35 in regular attendance for worship service.
Job Description
The Candidate
We are looking for a person with strong personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This individual would maintain a disciplined personal devotional life. This man would seek to lead the congregation to a more complete knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and encourage us in ministry. We require a man with a heart for people, who would communicate effectively with the church and equip us for the work to which God has called us (Eph. 4:12-13; II Tim. 2:2). He would have a shepherd’s heart, exercising spiritual oversight (I Peter 5:2-3) and exhibiting Christ like love for God’s people. Prayer and Biblical preaching and teaching would be the heart of his ministry.
The Qualifications
We require a man that meets the qualifications in I Timothy and Titus. The preferred minimum education is a seminary graduate along with pastoral experience. He must have the ability to preach and teach effectively, adequate administration skills and a heart for people and visitation. Establish and maintain a presence in the community.
