Job Overview

The Lincoln Park Kids Ministry Director leads and implements the mission of Rock Hill Kids at the Lincoln Park (LP) campus, particularly on Sunday morning. This role includes preparing curriculum for teachers, recruiting, leading, scheduling, and training volunteers, and communicating well with parents/guardians. It also includes assisting in finding childcare for LP events and being a consultant for the Rock Hill Kids ministries at the other campuses. There will also be 1-3 annual events that they will be responsible for planning and implementing for Rock Hill kids, families, and the community (perhaps VBS or similar discipleship/outreach).

Job Description

Mission of Rock Hill Kids: Our mission in Rock Hill Kids is to create a safe and fun environment for kids to declare, display and delight in the gospel of Jesus through a redeemed community of people and gospel-centered curriculum. We want the kids to look forward to Kids’ Church so much that they compel their families to go to church!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Mission of Discipling Kids at Rock Hill
    • Dream of effective ways to grow the discipleship path at RH Kids
    • Foster compelling opportunities for kids to learn the Gospel and how it impacts their lives.
    • Create an environment where every student feels seen, known, and loved by their teacher(s) and by God.
    • Find ways that kids can give and serve in meaningful ways
    • Collaborate with other ministry leaders to effectively minister to kids and their families
    • Cast a vision and share your enthusiasm with the church body to help them understand the value and joy of discipling kids.
  • Recruit and Lead Kids Church Volunteers
    • Actively recruit and train new volunteers with an onboarding process
    • Coordinate the volunteer schedule on PCO, including overseeing the substitution process
    • Manage 24 volunteers each Sunday, creating a “team” mentality and atmosphere.
    • Provide ongoing training, encouragement, and resources to enhance volunteer effectiveness
    • Maintain and refine child safety protocols and procedures
  • Curriculum for Kids Church at Lincoln Park
    • Oversee discipleship and care of approximately 100 kids each week at the Lincoln Park Campus (ages birth through 5th grade)
    • Prep weekly lesson plan for large group time (including song choice)
    • Prep weekly classroom teaching materials including snacks
    • Prep unit resources for teachers
    • Plan and teach Easter/Christmas songs for kids to perform at special services
  • Communicate with Parent/Guardians
    • Inform parents about what their kids are learning to assist in family discipleship through a monthly newsletter
    • Resource families with books, articles, videos, and podcasts to help them be better equipped
    • Follow-up with families if situations require it
  • Help Coordinate Childcare for Events at Lincoln Park
    • Special Services (Good Friday, Christmas Eve)
    • Member meetings (3/year)
    • Rock Hill Institute Classes, Seminars, Bible Studies
  • Consult with Chester Park and Superior campuses for Kids Church
    • Offer advice and suggest resources without taking responsibility for the other campuses’ choices, ministry implementation, or scheduling.
  • Lead the Kids Ministry Events Team
    • Lead and help plan events that are strategic for discipleship
    • Empower volunteers to plan, assist with, or run events
    • Lead and help plan outreach events to families in our community
  • Personal Growth
    • Continue to learn and grow personally as a Christian and as a Children’s Ministry Director. This includes at least one conference a year for job development.

Compensation: $45,000-55,000

 

Expected Work Rhythms: The initial expectation is 40 hours/week, which includes Sunday morning Kids Church, weekly staff meetings, and a weekly meeting with your supervisor.
