Kindle Deal: True Paradox: How Christianity Makes Sense of Our Complex World by David Skeel. $3.99.
Seven of the best articles I came across this week:
1. Randy Alcorn – The Little Known Story of Olympian Eric Liddell’s Final Years. Chariots of Fire wasn’t the end of this missionary’s story.
2. Val Dunham – The Harrowing Hope of This Is Us. A good reflection on the frustrations and beauty captured by this show. (Spoiler alert!)
3. Benjamin Vribicek – When Should a Pastor Address a Current Event? I wrote about this last year, and Benjamin has some good thoughts that build on my previous post.
4. Jessica Stillman – Why You Should Surround Yourself with More Books than You’ll Ever Read. I admit, I’ve never thought of this answer. I’m on track!
5. David Grann – The White Darkness: A Solitary Trek Across Antarctica. I’m fascinated by polar expeditions. This long-form profile of Henry Worsley is beautifully written.
6. Bill Smith – Some Thoughts on Lent and Fasting. Some helpful thoughts here on the power of fasting.
7. I enjoyed this interview with Roy and Karen Prior about marriage, infertility, and vocation. (I love the way the atmosphere of their home is described.)
