- We also released a new episode of Word Matters, answering the question “Will There Be Oceans in Eternity?” from Revelation 21. You can subscribe to the podcast here: iTunes | Android | RSS
Book Deal: Four books for Thom Rainer are available as a bundle at a great price: Who Moved My Pulpit?, Autopsy of a Deceased Church, Simple Church, and The Millennials.
Seven of the best articles I came across this week:
1. Joe Sobran – Reading Old Books. There’s nothing quite like the joy of falling in love with an old book, finding a mentor who speaks to you across the centuries…
2. Collin Hansen – Opportunity Amid Secularism. There are positive aspects to our current cultural moment, and we shouldn’t lose sight of them.
3. Andrea Palpant Dilley – The 3 Myths of Cohabitation. Generally speaking, the least educated married families in Europe enjoy more stability than the most educated cohabiting families.”
4. Joy Beth Smith – 4 Things Beth Moore Taught Me About Writing. #2 and #3 are absolutely essential for every writer. Great wisdom here.
5. Yuval Harari – Why Humans Won’t Dominate Earth in 300 Years. Harari’s “Sapiens” is a textbook for a secular view of history. His newer work (I haven’t read yet) speculates about the future. This is where the myth of progress/technology leads.
6.Robert Kolb – To Preach Like Luther, You Must Listen Like Luther. Insight from the reformer.
7. Daniel Im – Faith Like Broccoli. I never get tired of testimonies like this.
