“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!... The boundless riches of Christ…” (2 Cor.9:15; Eph. 3:8)
Heavenly Father, of the many things we’re grateful today, at the top of our list is the “indescribable gift” and “boundless riches” of the Gospel. Though we can easily hitch our joy-wagon to romance and riches, people “getting us” and us getting our way… you have enriched us beyond all calculations. Here are just 7 of numberless expressions of your great love for us in Jesus:
Full forgiveness, and your unwavering favor and delight.
A new heart that beats for you and the things you cherish.
Our lives now hidden in Christ, and Christ now living in us.
The assurance that one Day we will be totally sin-free and fully like Jesus.
All the legal rights and great delights of being your adopted, beloved children.
An eternity of “all-things-new,” nothing broken, and only perfect relationships.
The promise and peace that you are presently at work in all things for our good.
Oh, Father, thank you many times over, for the “indescribable gift(s)” of the Gospel. Until the Day you send Jesus back, we can “know and rely on the love you have for us” (1 John 4:16). We will seek to do so today—Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022. Whether it’ll be an easy day, a challenging day, and probably some of both… it is the day you have made, and we are the children you so deeply love. Thank you, and So Very Amen.
