“So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, accept one another, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Romans 15:6-7

Heavenly Father, I’ve never had so many Jesus-loving friends as divided, suspicious, and increasingly “cool” towards each other. What makes me sad is the widening “frosty” cavern is generated by very important, but very non-eternal matters.

Help us, Father. Send the fire of your Spirit to melt our icy feelings, as you exalt Jesus in our hearts and midst. Make Jesus profoundly present to us, knee-buckling magnificent, and irresistibly beautiful, on every page of your Word.

Turn our conversations in a new direction with each other. May we hear this sound soon, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he (Jesus) talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32). Give us redemptive heart-burn, Father.

As you have accepted us in Jesus, we are to accept each other—while our diversity, differences, and knowing-in-part continue. There is a lot we’re not going to agree on till Jesus comes back. But with “one mind and voice,” we are to glorify you. Jesus isn’t the “reason for the season,”; he’s the Lord of everything. So very Amen we pray, in his most glorious and loving name.
