Most glorious Triune God, who are you? You are the Father who loves us like no one else could or would—who by the grace of Jesus, has completely saved us, and has made us for a life of intimacy and fellowship with you by the Holy Spirit.
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.” (2 Cor. 13:14).
And who are we, Father, and who gets to say so? “Called, loved, and kept for Jesus Christ” (Jude 1:1). Astonishing—what a given identity, and glorious reality—we are called, loved, and kept by and for Jesus.
How can we be certain of your love, Father, and how can we know you better? “Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Gal. 4:6. Yes! It’s your Spirit’s work and delight to assure us and grow us.
We want to honor you, Father, but we are weak. What hope and resources do we have? “Mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance” (Jude 1:2). Hallelujah, you will super-supply us with everything we need.
How can we best show your love to others? “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger” (James 1:19). Help us, Father. It’s a good thing you give us grace upon grace.
What does your grace look like, Father? “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another” (Eph. 4:32). Again, help us.. as in today.
Until Jesus, returns, what do you want us to remember? “Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Cor. 13:8. It is all about the greatness of your love for us, Father. So Very Amen.
