Ephesians 1:17 – “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”
Lord Jesus, what a glorious prayer Paul prayed, reminding us of our need to come more fully alive to who you are, and what we already have in you. Indeed, life is to be lived as perpetual “come to Jesus moment”—really as an eternal “Jesus Movement.” May 2026 be a year in which the Holy Spirit does his revelation-giving, relationship-renewing work in our hearts. We want to know you better and better and better, for to know you and Abba, Father is eternal life (John 17:3).
Eph.1:18a – “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you…”
Jesus, open the eyes of our hearts to see and experience more of the incomparable hope to which you have called us—not invited, but subpoenaed us! You give us hope not hype, transforming assurance not Pollyanna-spin, joy to live on mission and not in fear. How do you do this, Jesus?
“Christ in us” is our sure and only hope of glory.
“Us in Christ” is our righteousness and acceptance with you.
“Christ for us” is our peace, for you are our reigning and returning King.
Eph.1:18b – I also pray you may know “the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people…” Jesus—stunning, astounding is what this is… you don’t just give us an incomparable inheritance; you have made us YOUR beloved inheritance. Talk about circuit-overloading, transforming love—free us from our unbelief.
Eph.1:19 – I also pray you may know “his incomparably great power for us who believe.” – Lastly, Jesus, keep releasing the power of your resurrection in and through our lives. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of “Sonship” (Rom.8), the power to know your multidimensional love (Eph.3:14-21), and the means by which you are making us like yourself. Hallelujah! And So Very Amen.
