Zondervan TGC15 E-book Sale Ends Sunday

I’ll never forget the first time I encountered D A. Carson’s big book The Gagging of God. I was a first-year seminary student, and the size intimidated me at first . . . until I began to read the book. What had been required reading for a theology class morphed into a life-shaping enterprise as Carson began to teach me how to understand my Bible. Previously, I had been intimidated by the Old Testament with all its ceremonies, laws, and prophecies. But Carson’s expert scholarship and clear writing began to show me that God’s Word has provided a metanarrative—a big story—that explains all the little stories, one that explains my story, the big story of God’s redeeming love in Christ in which all of Scripture culminates.

After absorbing this book, the OT no longer intimidated me, but opened up like a spring flower; I began to see Christ as the fulfillment of all the ceremonies, laws, and prophecies. This perspective deepened my understanding of biblical theology and has equipped me to be a far better teacher and evangelist. I have required this book of my own students and have recommended it to many churchmen. I cannot commend it enthusiasticallhy enough as required reading for all believers. This weekend, you may buy this excellent volume in its e-book edition for $3.99 as part of Zondervan’s e-book sale designed to coincide with The Gospel Coalition’s National Conference, which kicks off Monday in Orlando.

This sale also presents an opportunity to pick up other sound books at ultra-low prices, including Gregg Allison’s Historical Theology ($8.99), which shows how Christians wrestled with doctrine from the early church until now. If you are a pastor, it is inevitable that you will have to preach the Word amid tragic circumstances; you’ll find Bryan Chapell’s helpful volume The Hardest Sermons You’ll Ever Have to Preach ($3.99) a much-needed instructor. Perhaps you are couseling someone addicted to pornography or wrestle with this temptation yourself; Heath Lambert’s book Finally Free ($3.99) is one of the best works recently published to help you deal biblically with this dark spiritual enemy. Michael Horton’s Pilgrim Theology ($7.99) offers an engaging, readable systematic theology that helps pilgrims apply doctrine to everyday life for their journey through a fallen world to the Celestial City. Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi ($3.99) delivers a glorious testimony to God’s wonderous grace.

There are numerous other great books at low prices. Please see the complete list below.
