After I finished Tony Reinke’s new book, 12 Ways Your Phone Is Changing You [read Andy Crouch’s review], I knew I had to talk to him for Help Me Teach the Bible. Even though Reinke doesn’t call himself a Bible teacher, it is clear from our conversation that he brings knowledge and love for the Scriptures to the topic of technology. Reinke explains the difference in how we read digital text as opposed to printed text, and he sets before us a desirable goal: the undistracted life.

Tony Reinke is senior writer for Desiring God, where he hosts Ask Pastor John, the popular podcast dedicated to questions of Christian theology and ethics. On the side, he manages HermanBavinck.org, a tribute site to his favorite Dutch theologian.

Is there enough evidence for us to believe the Gospels?

In an age of faith deconstruction and skepticism about the Bible’s authority, it’s common to hear claims that the Gospels are unreliable propaganda. And if the Gospels are shown to be historically unreliable, the whole foundation of Christianity begins to crumble.
But the Gospels are historically reliable. And the evidence for this is vast.
