“Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.” (1 Peter 4:1)

These words were written by Peter. But wasn’t Peter the one who rebuked Jesus when Jesus said he was going to suffer and be killed? Isn’t Peter the one who denied Jesus because he was afraid of suffering? What happened to Peter in between the time he fled from suffering with Jesus to the time he wrote a letter encouraging believers to suffer with Jesus?
