David Horner is the senior pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served since the church began in 1978.  A graduate of Wake Forest University (BA, 1974) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M. Div., 1977), David’s primary ministry focus has been equipping others for ministry, with in the local congregation as well as in the broader body of Christ.  Through expositional preaching and teaching, he devoted himself fully to a ministry of the Word of God. 

David is the founding pastor of Providence, which was established October 1, 1978, and he has served as the senior pastor ever since. A native of Graham, N.C., he received a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University and also holds a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  David is also speaks internationally speaks and is currently a trustee at Lifeway, Nashville, Tennessee. He and his wife, Cathy, have been married since 1973, have three married sons, and three grandsons
