The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father

in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. Jn. 4:23

I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Rom. 12:1

Worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh. Phil. 3:3b

Heavenly Father, thank you for the calling, privilege, and blessings of corporate worship. You inhabit the praise of your people. You, alone, are worthy of adoration, affection, and allegiance.

Today, and every day, may we offer you the worship you deserve, in which you delight, and for which we’re designed. It’s all about you, the Lord Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit. We forsake our personal worship agendas, as we bow before you.

Consume us afresh, humble us again, and liberate us for your glory. As you grant us a fresh awareness of your holiness and grace, we will seek to declare your worth with our mind, heart, and body. Inform us, inflame us, and renew us.

Pour out your Spirit on us, Father. Move us to a holy hush, and unparalleled joy. Our worship is vain apart from the Spirit’s work and presence. We don’t want to give you mere lip-worship, empty ritual, or rote liturgy. Free us to glory in Christ Jesus—to boast, rejoice and rest in all the riches of the Gospel.

Turn our theology into doxology, our singing into adoration, and our learning into servanthood. May our worship be a sweet aroma to you, a transforming power for us, and a mercy-magnet for non-believers. Send us forth with your benediction, into a week of living and loving to your glory. So very Amen we pray, in Jesus’ exalted and loving name.
