I don’t make many movie recommendations these days—in part because of the season of life we’re in we don’t see many movies and also because there don’t seem to be that many really worth seeing—but here’s an exception: The King’s Speech. If you like historical dramas, great cinematography, and excellent character acting, this is your film. (I really don’t know why it’s rated R—it has one brief scene with some swearing.) The movie is on limited release in the US, so it may not be the easiest one to find in the theaters.

You can read the book upon which the movie was based, entitled, The King’s Speech: How One Man Saved the British Monarchy, co-written by the speech therapist’s grandson and based on actual letters and journals.
